The Giving Manger
At St Francis our Advent theme is 'We Wait Upon You Lord'. We are encouraging our children to think of others during Advent as a way of preparing our hearts for the coming of Our Saviour. In light of this, we are inviting our children to contribute to 'The Giving Manger'. The children are helping to prepare the manger for the birth of Christ, by writing on pieces of 'straw' a good deed that they have done for someone else and putting the 'straw' in the manger. Throughout Advent, the manger will become more and more full with good deeds, whilst also becoming more and more ready for our Lord to be laid in it at Christmas.

Forest School
St Francis' Forest School provision is now in its 4th year and is going from strength to strength. 'Go Wild Outdoors' have worked closely with senior leaders to ensure that their sessions support our curriculum. So far this year, Year 5 have designed and built viking long boats and anglo-saxon shelters and Year 3 have created their own models of Stone Henge and made mud paintings in the style of cave drawings from the Stone Age period. The rest of our KS1 and KS2 classes will also benefit from this exciting provision later on in the year.
